First snowdrop
Today, a milestone – the first snowdrop (Galanthus nivalis) of the year! It seems early, but I don’t seem to have recorded its first appearance before. (Note to myself in 2009: I actually noticed the first bloom about a week ago, but it was only this weekend that I had enough light to photograph by, having to leave the house in the dark and return in the dark. Who invented this “daylight savings” time thing, anyway?)

Such a cheerful little flower. :) I should see if my bulbs are doing anything after about a week of abnormally warm temps.
Happy GTS~

Thanks for sharing. We demolished our old house last spring and along with it went all traces of the garden. So no first flowers in my yard this year, so I shall enjoy yours.

Sarah – it is cheerful, isn’t it? Such a hopeful flower…
Sandra – So sad! I know what it’s like to be garden-less, if only for a short time. Vicarious living is key!Hope you enjoy creating your new garden.

My heart aches. Really it does. That is beautiful. Truely awe inspiring and one day in the distant distant – really I can’t see it because of the snow blindness – I too will see one, I hope. Sigh. Lovely!
