What’s your sign?

May 4, 2006 by Andrea Bellamy 3 Comments

After a conversation about birthdays revealed that there are a disproportionate number of Tauruses in my Garden Design program (including myself), I’m finding this “hortiscope” column very interesting. To me, it was no real surprise… we Tauruses are known for our need for comfort and sensuality – things a garden definitely provides! We also love nature and natural things. No great leap there. But my “hortiscope” suggests “The cottage garden is a perfect match for you, because this sentimental style invites a little neglect. Comfortable patio furniture has a special place in your landscape, too, and you probably enjoy it more than the flowers.” Harrumph. Check yours out: have they got you pegged?

I’m a Taurus, too, but I’m not sure I agree with that. I love fall cleanup! I love high maintenance plants (more gardening!) Now, I do like a cottagey look to some degree. Definitely don’t like formality or too much “order”, but I love my bamboo and my tropical plants, too. Interesting the Taurus predominance though… it does make sense.

This was not only fun – it was terrifyingly accurate.

I’m a Taurus too :) The horticultural horiscope is all wrong for me too. I have horribly uncomforable lawn furnature.
