Canstruction 2007

Please stand by while I deviate from my standard garden/design broadcast to bring you Canstruction 2007.

Canstruction is an international event that combines a design/build competition with a unique way to help feed hungry people. Competing teams design giant sculptures made entirely out of non-perishable foods. At the close of the exhibitions all of the food used in the structures is donated to local food banks.

I’m a Canstruction veteran, this being my fifth competition and the third-time win for our team, made up of the staff and friends of Industrial Brand Creative (my husband’s company) and Legends Memorabilia.

Canstruction is such a fun, exciting and exhausting event, and it’s all for a good cause. If you live in Vancouver, check out the exhibit (including our sculpture, “Picnic Antics”) until March 11 at Canada Place. See Canstruction Vancouver for details.

If you don’t live in Vancouver, locate a participating city near you.

Check out more photos of our build here or view a timelapse video.

That’s pretty amazing. Kinda creepy, but amazing.

    Thanks!

Yes, it’s kind of creepy… in the past we’ve always done fun, cute things. So it was nice to do something different.
