Instant vase update

Just wanted to draw your attention to a quick-and-easy craft project I spotted over at Home by Sunset. They’ve taken a plain vase and wrapped it with a natural placemat (reed, bamboo, etc.) for instant organic chic. Find step-by-step instructions here.

Now why have I never thought of that before? That is a great idea and definitely changes the look of a plain glass vase. I have some interesting dark wooden placemats that would look good like this. This also gives me the idea of buying some flowers. I am definitely in need of some.

That’s exactly what I thought when I saw it, Kate!: “now why didn’t I think of that?” I even have some dark brown twig placemats that would work perfectly. Now I just need to buy myself some flowers!
